Indies on Loop for September 2019

We asked Mr. Six The Northstar as our guest curator for Indies on Loop this month. Rooting from Fliptop, Six is one-third of the nerdcore trio Shadow Moses. Having three self-produced albums on his discography, this beatmaker is under wraps producing new material, currently hangs with Logiclub, sometimes Curtismith, oftentimes Dante & Amigo.

Here's his 5 tracks we're looping for this month.

WHO: Jon Protege

WHAT: The Beatdown

(c) 2019 | Run time: 3m 35s

WHY: This is a single from the much anticipated debut solo album from Jon Protege. People know Jon Protege from his Fliptop battles. This is a reunion track if you will... together with his Audible-mates Liquid, One3D and PJ.

i love the beat switches. i am always a fan of properly executed beat switches.

WHO: Plazma

WHAT: Weapon Specialist

(c) 2018 | Run time: 2m 24s

WHY: Plazma's Weapon Specialist is a venture towards collaborating with a new set of producers. On this track, Plaz blasts bar after bar showing he could kill it on a more upbeat song produced by Kensa. And I love how Plaz does the hook giving you that "Why didn't I think of that?" moment

WHO: Emar Industriya

WHAT: Apoy Na Abiso

(c) 2016 | Run time: 3m 29s

WHY: I have always been a fan of pure lyricism and abstract approach to hiphop music. Emar reminds me of the old AMPON execution of music. Raw, Abstract, in your face. The only difference is its 2019 and the level of rhyming is just a few notches up there compared to when I was starting.

WHO: Waiian

(c) 2019 | Run time: 2m 56s

WHY: Waiian. Kartell'em is the future I want to see. Nuff said

WHAT: Nucleus

(c) 2019 | Run time: 2m 26s

WHY: KMG was this beatmaker from Legazpi I listened to like... he developed so much in terms of his musicality. It's cool he got signed to Uprising and I am pretty sure there will be a lot more artist from their roster who will be rhyming to his beats soon.
